The companion whom Muhammad ﷺ prayed for knowledge

You are so tired of reading the story of monkey and jackal's cunning, donkey and crocodile's stupidity, and many other mixed stories.

I hope to write the life story of a teenage companion for you to break the web of those false stories.  I hope that one day you will become much bigger by walking on the bright path of his life.

Today I am going to tell you about the great Companion who is the great scholar of the Muhammadan Ummah, the commentator of the Quran, Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas Radiyallahu Anhu.

His father Abul Fazl Abbas Ibn Abdul Muttalib embraced Islam in the early days of Islam.

The mother of Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas RA is Umm Fazl Lubaba Bint Hares Radiyallahu Anha.

He took refuge in the cool shade of Islam after Hazrat Khadija.

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas was born three years before the Hijrah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).  He was 13 years old when the Prophet passed away.  When he was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) soon after his birth, he 'tahneek' by spitting on the mouth of the baby Abdullah and said this dua, which means, 'O Allah, grant him immense knowledge of fiqh and tafseer.'

Passion for education

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught Hazrat Ibn Abbas the beginnings of Islam, taught him the basic words of Islam.  The talent of Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas was discovered in his childhood.  No matter what genius is born in that boy who has received the rare honor of being loved by the best Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.  From the deep fountain of knowledge and wisdom of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have gathered many gems and pearls.  For which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed with his heart to Allah to grant him deep knowledge of religion.  Why should not a genius be born in him whose mouth first entered the mouth of the Prophet ﷺ?

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas RA's passion for education was extraordinary.  In the pursuit of knowledge, he did not show any arrogance, he did not show his brain.  The small-big-free-slave used to beg like a beggar from whomsoever he could find a drop of knowledge, a particle of knowledge.  Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas' strong desire to acquire knowledge and strong efforts, Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Masud RA.  Impressed, he said that if this boy had got the opportunity we got (companionship of the Prophet, peace be upon him for a long time), we would not have been equal to him in any respect.

 Juhud and worship

Ibadah is the servitude of Allah and Juhud is giving up all the happiness and abundance of the world.

The Prophet's house was the first Madrasah of Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas.  Where he received proper education in worship and sacrifice.  So Kale became the embodiment of Juhud and worship.

It is natural that one who was brought up in the cradle of Judaism and Ibadah would be like this.

He never compromised on the question of worship and obedience to God.  He was ready to make any sacrifice in this regard.  Even if you have two eyes.  Yes, that is what happened in the life of Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas.  As he entered old age, his eyeballs dried up.  Because of the fear of God, he used to cry day and night, he used to shed hot tears, because of this condition.

There were two dark spots on her cheeks from the book of tears.

 Like a waterfall.

 death

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas RA.  Taif chose the city to spend the rest of his life in silence.  Because Taif is a high land with a clear climate.

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas RA.  After going to Taif, students who were hungry for knowledge came to him in droves from all around and far away.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas also continued to distribute knowledge of God and knowledge of Prophethood.  Who knows when the seventy spring of his life ran out of honey in the garden of Ilm among the nightingales of Ilm?  Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas passed away one day.  An ocean of Elam died.
